Our logo represents a pathway for individuals’ carbon allowances that would stand a good chance of stabilising climate change over the course of the next century.
Applied globally, these pathways would stabilise greenhouse gas levels at 450ppm – giving us a 90% chance of keeping warming between 1-3oC 1. The coloured lines each represent different regions whose emissions converge by 2100 to a sustainable level of ~ 1 tonne of CO2 per-capita per-year.
Regional per capita emissions allowances for stabilization of atmospheric CO2 concentration at 450ppm. Modified from the output of the Java Climate Model http://chooseclimate.org/jcm/jcm4 (accessed 15 July 2006)”>2, based on convergence in 2100 and the IPCC SRES A1B baseline scenario.
